Introducing Junonia
As a “plus-centric” company that focuses solely on the plus-size women’s market.  Junonia specifies its own unique line from a variety of factories in the USA and around the world. Over 80% of items sold are exclusively developed by Junonia with many items manufactured in the USA.  Junonia creates unique designs to its own size specifications and quality standards.  The fit and quality control is maintained at its administration headquarters.

The Junonia catalog also features beautiful natural fabrics, especially in its casual styles.  “We focus on fit and quality,” says top merchant Nancy Mendele.  “Fashion may drive our customers to buy, but long-lasting quality will bring them back.”  Nancy’s merchandising group is always on the lookout for styles and silhouettes that work for the Junonia customer.  “We stay in the center of style and trend, while interpreting those trends to best effect for the Junonia customer” states Mendele.

Junonia also promotes designs that solve the specific clothing issues of active women, whether it is chafing, bounce-control, or abdominal support.  Examples of its innovation include the Dual Layer short that solves the problem of shorts that ride up, with a unique two-layer design.  The cross-back Chloroban® tank provides the shoulder freedom of an X-back with flattering and full back coverage.  Support sport capris with inner abdominal and back support. The popular Double-scoop, Double-layer sport bra that uses two full layers of firmer-than-typical cotton/spandex, both front and back, to result in a sport bra with reliable and comfortable control. The cut is higher in the front and at the sides to make it a best-selling product.

Technical Details and Fabrics
Since larger bodies, and fast-moving bodies, generate heat, wicking fabrics that control moisture and modulate the body’s temperature are very effective.  As top athletes know, more comfort means more speed, and for the larger woman just starting out, it also means a lot more fun.  “These clothes just make me feel like moving,” said one customer.

Junonia carries brand name technical fabrics such as Coolmax®, Lycra® and Chloroban®, and Supplex®.  Junonia also creates technical wicking fabrics under its own trademark called QuikWik®.  Polypropylene is another fabric that Junonia customizes for its popular swimwear line.  Most swimwear and beachwear items are certified chlorine resistant. Sun UV protective clothing is another popular category for Junonia.
